Easter shouldn’t be reserved for parents and kids. Single people also deserve a treat or two 🙂 We also like a bit of easter egg hunt, indulge ourselves of nice Easter food and play with friends.
Easter 2021
This Easter is a bit of an odd one. We have all been under lockdown for almost a year and we are eager to meet people. As single people this is taking its toll now. Fortunately, rules have been relaxed as we can meet up to 6 people outdoor. Soon we will finally be able to meet inside.
So what can we do to entertain ourselves under these conditions? Here are few suggestions to make it festive
Treat yourself to a nice homemade Easter-themed meal
Aperitif – Kir Royal
Very refreshing, a splash of Crème de cassis (blackcurrant liqueur) with Champagne will get you started nicely 🙂
Not expensive either. The £11.49 Champagne at Aldi will do the treat.

Starter: Egg Mimosa (deviled eggs)
The name originates from the mimosa tree which flowers a lot in the South of France in late winter and early spring. Egg Mimosas are very easy to make:
- Boil few eggs – 1 egg per person
- Peel the eggs and cut them into 2 lengthwise
- Separate the yolk from the white
- Make your own may mayonnaise using oil, mustard, egg York and a dash of lemon (optional)
- Finely chop half the yolks and reserve them as a topping
- Mix the other half of the yolk of the boiled eggs with the mayonnaise and fill up the boiled egg whites
- Sprinkle the reserved chopped yolk on top of the eggs so they resemble the fluffy mimosa flower
- Add some parsley, dill, chives, sale and pepper
Roasted Pork Belly with bunny carrots and potatoes
Dry the skin of 1.5kg pork belly and rub it with mixture of thyme, sea salt and black pepper. Place the pork on a baking tray and roast it for 20 minutes at 200-210 degrees and then for an extra hour at 180 degrees / Gas 4.
Cut carrots and potatoes in the shape of bunny. Then either roast or boil them to serve with the roasted pork belly.
Chocolate Pineapple on a stick
Simply take the skin off the pineapple and nicely cut in long wedges. Shove sticks in them. Put them in the fridge so they get colder. That way the chocolate will stick better and they will get crunchy.
Melt the chocolate and dip the sticks of pineapple wedges in it and let them cool down. Pineapple is a great refreshing fruit that can also make things taste better 🙂

Watch Easter movie
Not fan of traditional Easter family movies? How about a proper horror movie set at Easter? Try Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! or the Rabbit
Easter Drinking Egg Memory game
Clean the egg mimosa shells properly. Place each half over coordinating pairs of small items like coins and sweets. Take turns flipping them one at a time and see who can match up the most pairs. If you mismatch you drink a shot.
Adult egg hunt
With temperature forecast to get colder this weekend, why not try an indoor or bedroom style easter egg hunt? These special eggs come in different sizes and materials to create an unimaginable stimulus making you tremble with delight.
Single Bunny Hops
Despite everything that we hear about Easter, all the family-oriented fun activities, there are many things we can do as single people to enjoy Easter. This won’t however stop us from spending times with some of our family members in person or virtually this weekend 🙂
How will you spend your Easter? What fun activities will you do?
